I Heart Fridays - PiratesYarrrn

Pender Island, where I live, has so many talented artists.  Everything from writing and painting to pottery and fiber.  I love to try different types of art forms and something I've dabbled in is knitting.  We have 'Knit Night' where once a week a few of us get together to knit and eat sushi! (I'm all about the sushi as I'm still knitting dishcloths and not even close to some of their creations)  One of the awesome knitters is Rowie and her business is called Pirate Yarrrn! (I just love the name!)  Here is a little about Rowie (taken from her Etsy shop):

I am a California girl living on a small island in British Columbia. I am a Professional Baker, and a Massage Therapist. I live with my husband, 5 dogs, 2 cats, 2 pigs and some birds.  I have always been a crafty person, and knitting and dying are my newest obsessions.

Living in Canada, even the southern west coast, requires warm wooly things for every day. That means they have to be cute AND functional! Through experience I have come up with a collection of items that I enjoy making and wearing. My yarn is all hand dyed/painted with care, and sometimes I love it so much I have a hard time letting it go! The selection is always changing slightly, especially with the seasons, so check back often!

Farmers market on Pender Island
Her Etsy shop is crammed full of pretty colourful yarn, lots of different types to pick from too!  And every item has an awesome pirate name too! Here are a few of the pretty selections:

Colorway: Electric Jellyfish
Colorway: Davy Jones' Locker
Colorway: Wench

If you knit or crochet, then you'll love Pirate Yarrrn!  And follow along on Instagram too!

Review of Love and Farkles on Vancity Mommy D: Mom-Approved Monday

I love supporting and networking with other Momprenuers! It is so fun to meet others that are passionate and driven with their business.  I was happy to connect with a fellow blogger and Mompreneur, Janette from Vancity Mommy D a few weeks ago.  I love reading her blog and following her on Instagram.

I Heart Fridays - Kozy Komforts

I love supporting other handmade businesses, especially mompreneurs.  And this 'I Heart Friday' business is Kozy Komforts, definitely a favourite of mine!  I connected with the owner, Cristin, online through mutual friends and fell in love with her knitted/crocheted creations.  We also have a shared love of turquoise and coffee!  She makes so many fun and functional products including the facial skrubbies and beautiful cowl pictured below. I also own an awesome custom mug cozy for my coffee in the cold mornings!

I love these cotton facial skrubbies! Gentle on the skin and perfect for my daughters at bath time, or for me during my nighttime skin care routine!  I asked her to surprise me with the colours and I loved what she picked out!  I've washed them several times and they still look great and have held their shape! The headband she includes with her orders works perfect to keep my hair back while washing my face too.

Being a huge Hunger Games fan, I had my eye on these 'Katniss' inspired cowls for a long time.  So I finally decided to order one, and well, I absolutely LOVE it!   I was so excited to open this package when it came in the mail.  This cowl is so thick and well made.  It is perfect for the Fall and Winter months when the weather is cooler.  I'm looking forward to the colder weather just to wear this.....almost (I do love my sunshine!)

Customizing My Business, Love and Farkles

I recently designed a new logo for my business and really wanted something personalized with it for my outgoing packages.
New Logo

I decided I wanted a stamp and I knew just the business to ask: Brickbubble!  I have been a fan of Brickbubble for quite some time as they (husband and wife team) create the most beautiful custom designs using laser engraving and mediums such as wood, metal, leather, fabric and so much more.  Diane also designs beautiful jewelry and wall hangings that I LOVE, there really isn't anything they can't create!

So I decided to get my new logo on a stamp, but I wasn't sure if it would work or turn out like I envisioned it. I was worried the flowers were a bit complicated.  But Diane assured me that it was no problem and took my order.  A few days later she emailed me a photo with the sample.  It looked awesome!  I was very impressed and so excited to receive it in the mail.

Once it arrived I stamped it on everything!  It is the perfect size for my outgoing envelopes for my orders. I can also use it for cards, tags and anything else I want to personalize with my business.  I love having a custom stamp! I would highly recommend them!

If you would like to check out Brickbubble, follow these links:

Love my custom stamp from www.brickbubble.ca

I was also getting low on my business cards so I decided to update them with my new logo on my next order.  I now have my logo on the back of my mini cards to match my stamp! (I order from MOO)

Mini cards from MOO
Now everything is matching which makes me feel like I'll look more professional and polished with my orders!
Do you have personalized items with your business? What types of products do you use and what makes them unique?
